MEET SHEEP, EXPLORE WOOL FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

  • Scolville Memorial Library Salisbury, Connecticut United States (map)

Join Le Petit Ranch at The Scoville Memorial Library for a special up-close, hands-on, sheep-and-wool experience for all ages!

Guided by Marjorie Borreda of Le Petit Ranch, we'll meet sheep of different sizes, colors, and breeds in the Library garden and enjoy some gentle one-on-one interaction and feeding.

We’ll learn about our woolly friends, highly social flock animals with excellent memories! You’ll hear about their care, body language, different breeds, and the importance of sheep and wool in history.

We'll also explore the journey from fleece to fiber and discover different wool textures, hands-on.

At the end of the program, we'll offer you a wool sample to take home.

This intergenerational program is for animal admirers of all ages, for sheep enthusiasts, knitters, fiber artists, and anyone curious to meet these gentle animals whose fleece helps keep us warm.
